is also recognized for our commitment to the communities we
serve through financial and volunteer support. For example,
we partner with liquor and grocery stores to aid in the sponsorship
of charitable events for the Leukemia Society and the Juvenile
Diabetes Foundation. Coors Brewing Company also asks us annually
to celebrate Halloween through the sale of paper pumpkins from
which the proceeds benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In
addition, Monarch assists not-for-profit organizations, such
as the Indianapolis Humane Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,
limit the cost of their fund-raising events by donating beer
and wine for their events.
In 2000, Monarch launched the Monarch Charitable Foundation
as a way to increase employee involvement in charitable giving.
Employees donate pre-tax dollars from each paycheck to the fund.
An employee-based committee then meets monthly to determine
which organizations to assist.
