Monarch Beverage is committed to promoting the responsible consumption of alcohol. Our MillerCoors partners said it best:
“We recognize that beer is not for everyone, every time or every place.”
We recognize alcohol is not like other consumer goods and can have consequences if abused by adults or consumed illegally by those underage. That is Monarch supports and participates in alcohol responsibility programs that focus on:
• Responsible retailing
• Helping to prevent drunk driving
• Working to reduce underage drinking
Like our supplier partner we support education, enforcement and awareness efforts to reinforce the belief that alcohol is not for everyone. However, safe alcohol consumption is not something that can be addressed by Monarch alone. “It is the collective responsibility of parents, distributors, retailers, other producers, community organizations government agencies and law enforcement” (MillerCoors). Monarch Beverage is proud to partner with all of these organizations that have a proven track record in implementing programs that promote responsible consumption.
These programs include:
Miller Lite Taxi Finder iPhone App
Miller Lite wants consumers to taste greatness – and get home safely. To help them do just that, the brand recently launched a free iPhone app.
The Miller Lite Taxi Finder iPhone app uses GPS coordinates to locate a user’s position on a map, then shows them the nearest taxi company. With a simple click, they can call and order a taxi cab to pick them up and also easily specify a new city or state for their taxi search.
Other features include a quoting form to request quotes from companies, a “cab hailer” that flashes a close-up of a pint of beer to help draw attention from the street, and the capability to be instantly connected to the 1-800-TAXICAB taxi hotline, which connects millions of people to taxis in communities all across the nation.
The brand teamed up with long-time partner 1-800-TAXICAB, a national taxi dispatch service that automatically connects callers with a local-area taxi company, to create the app.
To download the app for yourself, visit iTunes and search “Miller Lite Taxi App” – and make sure you encourage friends and family to download it, too.
Training for Intervention Procedures
Developed by Health Communications Inc., TIPS is designed to help servers encourage responsible drinking. It seeks to give servers the confidence, decision-making skills, and information they need to prevent underage drinking, drunk driving and overconsumption. Monarch has certified trainers that train hundreds of servers and employees of every year.
Lets Keep Talking
This book guides parents on asking the right questions; preparing kids for college and life after high school; knowing the laws governing underage drinking and the consequences associated with poor decisions.
Respect 21® Responsible Retailing
Monarch Beverage works in conjunction with their retail and supplier partners to execute the MillerCoors program called Respect 21®. Respect 21® was developed in partnership with Brandeis University and the Responsible Retailing Forum, to help retailers prevent underage alcohol sales. The program provides best-practice tools, resources and legal-age mystery shopper inspections that get measurable results, including significant increases in the number of times that clerks correctly check IDs.
Driver’s License Guide
Monarch distributes free copies of MillerCoors’ annual Driver License Guide to retail accounts and law enforcement agencies across the state. MillerCoors created the guide as part of their continuing effort to help retail sales clerks and servers detect fake IDs. The guide gives examples of valid license formats for all 50 U.S. states and the Canadian provinces and is endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police.
You Hold the Key. Never Drive Drunk
You Hold the Key. Never Drive Drunk is a drunk driving prevention program that reminds consumers that planning ahead is key for enjoying alcohol products responsibly. Consumers do hold the key to preventing drunk driving. The solutions are relatively simple, but planning ahead is key, specifically arranging safe rides home by cab, public transportation or designated driver
