Community Involvement

Identifying and expressing a worthy mission and set of prinicples are only the start of the task of building a meaningful organization. That task is completed by actions consistent with the Company's Mission and Principles.

Examples of how Monarch acts in harmony with its Principles can be seen in their commitment to community-focused initiatives like the following:

Charitable Support.

Corporate Donations.  Monarch supports multiple charitable causes.  In 2011 Monarch has made donations to the following organizations: American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Cosmo Knight's Scholarship Fund, Riley's Chher Guild, Hoosier Burn Camp, Angels for Kids, The Children's Tumor Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Jay County Special Olympics, Back on My Feet Indianapolis, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Connected by 25, Seratoma Club of Greenwood, Geared for Health, Gleaners Food Bank, Indy Thunder, Porcelain Art School, Connection Pointe- Back to School Blitz, Russ Dellen Memorial Loop, Greenwood Little League, Fusion Soccer/TOPS Soccer, American Heart Association, and Zoe's Bone Marrow Buddies.

Employee Donations.  To provide a vehicle for not only employee charitable donations but employee control of those donations, Monarch created the Monarch Beverage Charitable Foundation.  The Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity, receives voluntary payroll deducted donations from Monarch employees.  A board of directors selected by the donors then determines the beneficiaries of the employees’ largess.  All overhead costs of the Foundation are paid for by Monarch.

Blood Mobile.  Every six weeks the Central Indiana Blood Mobile stops at Monarch and receives blood donations from Monarch’s employees.

Community Involvement.

Chambers of Commerce.  Monarch is represented on the Indianapolis and Lawrence Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Monarch is a primary sponsor the Indianapolis Chamber’s annual “Hob Nob,” which is a gathering of all local area elected officials and candidates in a setting allowing citizens direct engagement with those officials and candidates.

Activate America.  Pioneering Healthier Communities, Monarch is a participant in a Lawrence, Indiana sponsored leadership strategy to facilitate active living and healthier eating through policy and environmental changes.

Political.  Monarch sponsors a Political Action Committee (“PAC”).  Employees may make non-tax deductible donations to that PAC.  The board of the PAC then distributes the contributions to selected candidates.
