Pilsners (also spelled Pilseners) are made with Pale malts and are typically very pale in color. They are bottom fermented and characteristically very smooth drinking while still having a hop character exceeding that of a typical lager. Pilsners are known for representing a premium quality and consistency in taste mostly for the lack of unpleasant flavors. Pilsners are usually very light and not complex in their flavor profiles.
